The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Okay guys, I'm in a bit of ____ right now and need your help if you could as well as if you are interested.

I have just had something come up and am in desperate need of some finances.  I don't have a lot of time, and can't get into details, but I need to sell some books to raise some money asap.  So anyone that is interested that has not yet purchased my book Fortified Excrement(s) or would like another copy, please contact me as soon as possible if you would like a book.
I'm in a bit of a desperate situation, so if you can help it would be greatly appreciated.
You can find preview images of the book in my gallery in the folder "Fortified Excrement(s)" to get a feel for the book.  Please contact me directly via email if you would like a copy to help out.  The book I will sell for a cut price of $20 rather than the marked $25 price on the site.

Also, I have been booked for the annual Supercon Convention in San Jose on May 16-17th and will have books and prints there if you will be there.  Most likely I will be doing sketch commissions for people at the Con as well.
