Oh crap, an American...

Yeah, I hate the Cap with a passion.
Here's the story...
If you are a fan of Captain America or Jack Kirby, I recommend reading no further than this, or at your disgression.

I did this as a mock to Jack Kirby. This past year at SuperCon San Jose 2009 we had the inking panel project yet again and one of the pieces was a Jack Kirby Cap. Well, I figured since I hate Cap so much, and *I think* (my opinion is) Jack Kirby is one of the most over rated ‘artists’ in his biz of all time... Yes, influencial to others, but cut and dry, you break down his skill level in comparison to other illustrators and artists of his time he wasn’t ‘all that’ as the kids say. Look at his character designs, not all that unique. Yes, monuments that have lived on, but for the only reason that creators since have developed those characters to something lasting. If they were the same as they were then, they would have been forgotten and died long ago. Hmm, maybe it’s just me and big muscles in rainbow colored tights are neat.
I figured I would drink some Gaw-hateraid and stir up something even worse than Jack's Cap. Using the base pose and composition, I simply morphed something less A* typical into my own take on the structural apects of Jack’s so called masterpiece.

So I came up with this hack job more or less.

I would show Jacks original, but why bother, does this look like Jack Kirby inked to you? Thought so. Google Supercon Cap or something…
Yeah, I threw Lt. Logan in the mess as well, you know me.....

Update: Fun thread. Apparently I have bad taste. Apparently I'm not 'educated'. Yet I heavily study fine art, photography, and illustration in all genres and time periods in history, and even gained a Masters degree in fine art. Odd that ey.... Simply my taste my opinion. Maybe my comment and opinion strike a flame, but maybe it will make someone look outside of why certain characteristics of comic art art rotten outdated cheese. Is it my taste on Jack Kirby's skill level in craft, or does it make some actual critical analysis relevant to open peoples eyes? Does it matter, either or? Eh, just me, whatever, feel free to piss on my grave now or after I die without become a legend.
